Tourism Trinidad attending FCCA 2023

Conferences like these are both important and lucrative. Following our attendance in 2022, Trinidad and Tobago was able to register a 51 percent increase in cruise passenger arrivals which promises to make the 2023-2024 Cruise Ship season a successful one.

Attendees are also organisations interested in doing business with the cruise industry, including Ports & Destinations, Cruise & Tourism Agencies, Tour Operators, Attractions, Suppliers, and Ship Agents.

Seabourn Pursuit cruises to Trinidad in its first voyage

Seabourn Pursuit from the Seabourn Cruise Line made Trinidad a must do stop in its inaugural cruise. The luxury liner was launched in February of this year. It also marked the first cruise ship for the 2023-2024 cruise season.

This season promises to be a bumper one with over 200,000 tourists expected across both islands.

TOURISM TRINIDAD CELEBRATES WORLD TOURISM DAY 2023

As the world comes together to celebrate World Tourism Day 2023 under the theme “Tourism and Green Investment,” Tourism Trinidad is proud to join the global community in promoting sustainable tourism practices. This year’s theme, set by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), emphasizes the importance of investing in a greener and more sustainable future for the tourism industry.

MORE CRUISE PASSENGERS TO VISIT FOR SEASON 2024

Trinidad’s upcoming (2023-2024) cruise season is on the horizon, and all signs point to another year of significant gains for the island’s cruise industry. Traditionally the season begins in November and runs till April the next year. This year the first vessel, Seabourn Pursuit, is expected to visit on October 11th, 2023.

Building upon the achievements of the 2022-2023 season, initial projections indicate that approximately 88,000 passengers and 30,000 crew will set foot on Trinidad’s shores, ushering in an influx of economic prosperity, cultural enrichment, and boundless opportunities for local businesses. This represents an estimated 81 percent increase in passengers from last season.

Successful National Geographic – Lindblad Expeditions Trip

The trip saw 52 travellers and crew embark on an eco-tour to build knowledge to share about the diverse and vibrant nature of our country. Trinidad serves as the first leg of their journey, with embarkation taking place on our island before the crew and guests of Lindblad Expeditions head to South America.

Latest Industry Stats – September

For the period January to August 2023, visitor arrivals to Trinidad and Tobago were 208,183.

The North American region represented the main source market, averaging 61% of total arrivals. Other notable markets included Caricom (16%) and Europe (15%).

The top three reasons visitors travel to Trinidad included : Visiting Friends and Relatives, (32%) followed by Leisure/ Beach Vacation (30%) and Business Conventions (11%).

The gender distribution among Trinidad visitors comprised of 48% Male and 52% Female.

The Hotel Occupancy rate for the month of July was 62%, with an Average Daily Rate (ADR) of TT$1,116.

The month of August experienced an increase in the Occupancy rate to 67% with the Average Daily Rate (ADR) at TT$1,073.

Facilitating two-way traffic, and elevating the overall tourism experience

We are happy to welcome a special delegation from the Curaçao Tourist Board, led by Elaine Francisca, Regional Sales Manager, who arrived in Trinidad on Caribbean Airlines!

She is joined by Tourism stakeholders from various hotels and tour operators and the delegation will conduct Sales calls, sales presentations, and co- host a travel trade reception.
