Trinidad and Tobago to Host the Fourth Annual Caribbean Music Awards
Tourism Trinidad Limited presents the Fourth Annual Caribbean Music Awards, the centrepiece of the inaugural Caribbean Music Awards Elite Weekend Experience
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago — Trinidad and Tobago will host the Fourth Annual Caribbean Music Awards on September 19, 2026, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain.
Presented by Tourism Trinidad Limited (TTL), with support from the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism (MTTI) and Global Trinidad and Tobago (GlobalTT), the Awards will be the centrepiece of the inaugural Caribbean Music Awards Elite Weekend Experience. The event is expected to attract artists, fans, music-industry professionals, cultural tastemakers and visitors from across the Caribbean and its diaspora.
Held under the theme “Sounds of the Caribbean,” the Caribbean Music Awards will be staged in the region for the first time following three editions in Brooklyn, New York. Its relocation gives Trinidad and Tobago an opportunity to showcase the country’s music, culture, creative talent and event-hosting capabilities to regional and international audiences.
The initiative supports the Ministry’s objectives of expanding cultural and entertainment tourism and strengthening the creative economy. Visitor spending is expected to benefit accommodation, food, transport, event-production and other local service providers, while the Awards will connect Caribbean artists and industry professionals with wider audiences and networks. In this way, the public investment is intended to market the destination and generate opportunities for local businesses and creatives.
Chairman of Tourism Trinidad Limited, Benedict Hatem, welcomed the announcement, noting the value the Awards bring to the destination:
“Bringing the Caribbean Music Awards to Trinidad and Tobago is a natural fit for a nation with a rich musical heritage and a culture that continues to resonate across the region and beyond. This is more than a show; it is an opportunity to showcase our destination to a global audience of artists, industry leaders and music lovers, and to position Trinidad and Tobago as a serious contender in entertainment and cultural tourism. We are proud to present this milestone fourth edition and to welcome the region and the diaspora home for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.”
— Benedict Hatem, Chairman, Tourism Trinidad Limited
Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism, Senator Satyakama Maharaj, placed the partnership within the Government’s wider ambition for Brand Trinbago:
“This partnership is part of a wider ambition to take more of what Trinbago creates, our music, experiences, goods and services, to the world. Culture can open doors for tourism, trade and investment, create markets for local businesses and demonstrate the quality and ingenuity of our people. We are therefore using this platform not only to host a major regional event, but to strengthen the visibility and commercial reach of Brand Trinbago.”

Global Trinidad and Tobago CEO Sekou Alleyne reflected on the organisation’s role in creating the opportunity for the Caribbean Music Awards to come to Trinidad and Tobago:

We are proud that an initiative undertaken through our Music Export Office has contributed to this historic moment. To see the Awards come to Trinidad and Tobago for their first-ever Caribbean edition is a tremendous milestone and an exciting opportunity to showcase our country’s music, culture and capacity to the world.”
