Port of Spain, Trinidad (February 26, 2025): Tourism Trinidad Limited (TTL) participated in the Annual Passenger Welcome Event, hosted by Caribbean Airlines on February 24, 2025, at Piarco International Airport, delivering an unforgettable arrival experience for visitors just in time for Trinidad Carnival.
As part of the initiative, TTL, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts (MTCA) and the National Carnival Commission (NCC), hosted a Carnival Booth Activation in the arrivals area where visitors were greeted with essential tourism information, insider tips on must-attend Carnival events, and personalised recommendations on the best ways to experience Trinidad beyond the festival season.
“As the official tourism agency for Destination Trinidad, we wanted visitors to feel the energy of our Carnival the moment they stepped off the plane,” said Cornell Buckradee, Interim CEO of Tourism Trinidad Limited. “Our booth allowed us to connect with travellers, ensure they had the information they needed, and encourage them to explore more of what Trinidad has to offer.”
Carnival continues to be at the centre of Trinidad’s tourism industry, drawing thousands of international visitors and significantly contributing to the economy. Referred to as “The Greatest Show on Earth,” the festival is a cultural spectacle that showcases the best of Trinidadian music, creativity, and heritage. Visitors from around the world travel to experience not just the main events but also the unique energy that defines the season—from traditional mas and steelpan performances to fetes and culinary delights.
Understanding the impact of Carnival as a gateway experience, TTL used its presence at the event to not only enhance the visitor welcome but also to highlight Trinidad’s year-round tourism offerings. Beyond Carnival, visitors were encouraged to explore eco-adventures, culinary tourism, historical landmarks, cultural experiences and an array of festivals that happen throughout the year that make Trinidad a must-visit destination beyond the season.
“Carnival is often the first introduction to Trinidad for many visitors, but we want them to see that we have so much more to offer throughout the year, reiterating our always-in-season marketing slogan, Buckradee added. “Through our continued efforts, we are ensuring that every visitor’s first experience is unforgettable and that they are inspired to return.”
As TTL continues its mission to position Trinidad as a premier travel destination, its participation in events like the Annual Passenger Welcome Event underscores its dedication to creating meaningful visitor experiences and promoting the island’s diverse attractions. TTL is dedicated to ensuring that visitors enjoy all the island has to offer throughout their stay. Through targeted marketing campaigns, partnerships, and interactive initiatives like the Passenger Welcome event, TTL encourages visitors to explore beyond the Carnival circuit.
